Kathleen Casto, PhD

Dr. Casto received her PhD in Psychology from Emory University at the end of 2016 before starting a postdoctoral fellowship through the National Research Council at the US Army Soldier Systems Center and the University of Oregon. From 2018-2023, she was an assistant professor at New College of Florida, starting at Kent State University in August of 2023. At Kent State she manages an active lab and research program while also teaching courses for the undergraduate and graduate curriculums in psychology and neuroscience.
Graduate Students
Sally Farah
Sally Farah is a Clinical Psychology PhD student. Sally’s research interests include the effects of hormonal fluctuations on mental health, motivation, and performance. After graduation, Sally plans to pursue a career in academia while also providing mental health support to underserved communities as a licensed clinical psychologist.
Cameron Hicks
Cameron Hicks (Fort Dodge, Iowa) is a current graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on neuropsychology and behavioral neuroendocrinology. Cam is interested in hormonal influences on behavior, cognition, concentration, and motivation. After graduation, Cameron plans to become a neuropsychologist and further his research in behavioral neuroendocrinology.
Victor Torres
​Victor Torres (Stow, Ohio), is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.
Interests: neuroendocrinology, how hormones impact states of higher concentration, motivation, and behavior-change.
After graduation plans: to pursue graduate school and earn a degree in Neuroendocrinology or Neuroscience related field
Divjot Kaur
Divjot Kaur (Twinsburg, Ohio) is a junior pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration of Child Psychology and minoring in Finance. Her future goals are to continue doing research and to get accepted into graduate school for Clinical Child and Child Health/Pediatric Psychology or Pediatric Neuropsychology.
Abbey Madasz
Abbey (Medina, Ohio) is a Sophomore in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program. After graduating, she hopes to continue her education in graduate school to become a Clinical Psychologist. Abbey also wishes to expand her understanding of psychological diagnoses and behavioral sciences through clinical research.
Alex Odgen
Alex (Canton, Ohio) is in the Neuroscience program and in the Addictions Counseling Certificate Program. Alex's academic interests include research on neuropsychopharmacology, recreational drug use, and addiction. After graduation, Alex plans on attending graduate school for clinical psychology or behavioral neuroscience. Alex wishes to be a researcher and teacher as a career.
Sydney Anderson
Sydney Anderson (New Philadelphia, Ohio), is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology. Sydney's academic interests include research in neuroendocrinology, specifically, how diet influences behavior and social outcomes. After graduation, Sydney plans to pursue an M.S. degree in integrative physiology and neurobiology and perhaps a Clinical Psychology PhD aft that.
